Bathroom bits and pieces

Final tile choices!! White glossy subway tile for the walls and matte white penny rounds for the floor. No one else in the house shares my excitement, sadly. Jeff is becoming more and more attached to the bath with every day that goes by. He takes such long, hot baths that I think he is actually dirtier when he gets out. You know, from sweating so much. That's gross. And then there's the inevitable question, "did you even use soap???" Don't get me started.

(Ok - this totally reminds me of the Friends episode 'The One Where Chandler Takes a Bath' - except Chandler uses an abundance of soap and other scented things. I watch a lot of that show. I find it mildly disturbing that I laugh as long, as loud, and as often as the studio audience. Even by myself. I hadn't really watched it much before we moved here, but it is on one of our tv channels constantly so now I'm all, between bursts of laughter, "Jeff, this is the greatest show EVERRR" which he doesn't even hear because he has his noise-cancelling headphones on. Then, I have to resort to telling the dogs, who pretend to be asleep.)

The only good thing about taking baths at this point is that it gives me time to fully visualize every aspect of the new bathroom. Kind of a fun game, if you're into that sort of thing. And I am sooo into it. It would be hard to match the happiness that I felt when Jeff called me into the bathroom and said "So, can you describe what exactly you have planned for in here?" He wished he'd never asked.

I have to say I am super happy with the Ikea light. To make a long story shorter, I found the EXACT same light on the website of a fancy European lighting company (Thomas Hoof) while browsing the resource list of the architect's home with the the knobs. I pumped my fist then, and I'm pumping it now. And I will probably pump it every time I see it in the bathroom. Honestly, I may never have to go to the gym again.
