Happy Valentine's Day! I thought I would show you a little something I whipped up for my valentine. It is super easy, so maybe you'll have time to surprise your S.O./love interest/parent/friend/roomie/offspring before the day is through.
To be honest, I didn't have this planned at all and made it for selfish reasons. I had a post-dinner craving for scones! I know they are totally a breakfast thing, but I love them any time of the day. Unfortunately, the only scones I've ever made had heavy cream in them, which I didn't have. We DID have sour cream so after some lightening fast internet research I hit on this recipe for Sour Cream Scones. All that was left was to add a little V-day twist. I've always liked to make my scones baked with a dollop of jam in the middle. This time, I used my thumb to make a heart-shaped depression in each little ball of dough, before carefully filling it with jam. I know scones aren't hard to make to begin with, but this recipe is crazy easy. It really only took 25 minutes from start to hot scones out of the oven. Yum!
