Knobs, attached

I spent most of Friday procrastinating. I was an anti-procrastinator in college, meaning I started all my projects pretty much on the first day of the quarter, so this was kind of a throwback to my grade school days, when I left every project to 10pm the night before it was due. You remember the thing about grade school projects, right? They are the most time consuming assignments EVER. Not a simple matter of sitting down at the computer and banging out 10 pages in two hours. No, we're talking excessive amounts of artistry in the form of poster boards and dioramas. Do those words make anyone else shudder? I'm thinking of one night in particular, when I had to make a hand-illustrated alphabet book on Croatia. Dark days.

So, I procrastinated. Just one more cup of tea and I would be ready. Finally, I got to it. The whole drilling bit didn't start until about an hour later. Getting the knobs lined up was a gnarly business. I checked, and rechecked, and triple checked... and then started all over, and then checked and quadruple checked. It got a little out of hand. It was like I had entered the Twilight Zone. Was I going to spend the rest of my life checking the placement of these knobs?? It seemed possible. "Dude," I said to myself, "COME. ON."

(By the way, do people even say dude anymore? I wonder if it makes me sound old. Do you know what makes me FEEL really old? Watching 16 and Pregnant [yeah, we get all the good US shows here] and thinking "I am 8 years older than you!!!!" Like if I had a kid when I was 16, it would be 8 years old now. Trippy.)

I really did drill the holes eventually. Everything turned out just fine. I'm a leeetle suspicious about the two middle ones, but I have forced myself not to examine them too closely.

The wardrobe is too high for me to take a picture of the whole thing with my good camera so I grabbed my phone so you could see the whole thing. Of course, the shiny-ness of the doors throws off my phone's autofocus, but you get the idea.

I'm pleased. I think the white knobs were a good choice. I guess that means I have to return to painting... dang!
